Making the Cake
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease and flour a heart-shaped cake pan.
- Cream together the butter and sugar in a mixing bowl until it's light and fluffy.
- Incorporate the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Stir in the milk and vanilla extract until just combined.
- Whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt in another bowl.
- Combine the dry ingredients gradually with the wet mixture until no streaks remain. Pour into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Cool the cake in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
For added charm, decorate with fresh fruit or edible flowers. Always use room temperature butter for easier creaming.
