  • 4 large Eggs room temperature
  • 1 cup Milk whole milk preferred
  • 2 teaspoons Baking powder
  • 2 teaspoons Vanilla extract preferably pure
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
For the Frosting
  • 1 batch Frosting of choice cream cheese or other

Method
 

Making the Cake
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease and flour a heart-shaped cake pan.
  3. Cream together the butter and sugar in a mixing bowl until it's light and fluffy.
  4. Incorporate the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  5. Stir in the milk and vanilla extract until just combined.
  6. Whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt in another bowl.
  7. Combine the dry ingredients gradually with the wet mixture until no streaks remain. Pour into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
  8. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  9. Cool the cake in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

For added charm, decorate with fresh fruit or edible flowers. Always use room temperature butter for easier creaming.
