For the Frosting
  • 2 cups Powdered sugar For a smooth frosting

Method
 

Directions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare two heart-shaped cake pans by greasing and flouring them.
  3. Cream together the unsalted butter and sugar in a mixing bowl until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  5. Mix in the milk and vanilla extract until well combined.
  6. Combine the dry ingredients: flour, baking powder, and cocoa powder in a separate bowl.
  7. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture until just combined.
  8. Pour the batter into the prepared pans and bake for 30-35 minutes.
  9. Cool the cakes completely before frosting.
  10. Whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form, then mix in the powdered sugar.
  11. Frost the top of one layer, then stack the second layer on top.
  12. Finish by frosting the top and sides of the entire cake.
